other important header tags >> The <TITLE> tag of each page is the single most important aspect of your page content as far as SEO is concerned... and it is also one of the most simple things to get right!
Untitled Document: Millions upon millions of web pages have their <TITLE> tag set to "Untitled Document", "Home" or some other non-descriptive phrase. Ironically this makes the search term "Untitled Document"
one of the most hotly contested search phrases on the internet, but of course hardly anyone searches for it. Google had 9.7 million matches when I last looked, have a look for yourself- Untitled Document
What is the <TITLE> tag: When you are on a web page, have a look at the top left hand side of your browser window. On this page you will see "The TITLE tag - the single most important thing on a web page with regards to SEO". This is the document title and is found
within the HTML of the page. Click the "View" option on the menu bar of the browser and then "Source" or "Page Source"; this will bring up a text window showing the code behind the page that you are viewing. You will see the following line right near the top of
the page: <title>The TITLE tag - the single most important thing on a web page with regards to SEO</title>. "<title>" denotes the start of the title tag and "</title>" the end, whatever is in between is your page title.
What should your title tag contain?: This should contain the keyword phrase that is assigned to the page in question. Simply get the keyword phrase that you have decided to use from that page in the previous section and put it in the title tag.
